Brand Mention Readiness
Make sure an AI can introduce, describe, and recommend your brand accurately — from just this page
What This Prompt Does
Getting cited is one thing. Getting named is better. This prompt reviews whether your page introduces the brand cleanly, explains what it does, for whom, and where — the minimum an AI needs to confidently name-check you in an answer.
When to Use It
- •Auditing a homepage or About page for AI-discoverability
- •AI assistants describe your service category correctly but never name your business
- •Preparing a brand page for a new market launch
- •Reviewing a PR or press release landing page
The Prompt Template
Act as a digital brand visibility strategist. Your goal is to determine whether this page makes the brand easy for AI systems to recognize, describe, and mention accurately. Context: - Brand name: [BRAND NAME] - Business type: [BUSINESS TYPE] - Page text: [PASTE PAGE CONTENT] Task: Review this page and identify: 1. whether the brand is clearly introduced 2. whether the brand's purpose is easy to understand 3. whether the page clearly explains what the brand does 4. whether the page includes enough context for an AI system to mention the brand accurately 5. the top 5 improvements Process: 1. Review how the brand is introduced. 2. Review whether the page says what the business does, for whom, and where. 3. Identify missing context. 4. Recommend improvements. Constraints: - Use plain English. - Focus on clarity and recognition. - Do not suggest empty branding language. - Keep the response practical. - Favor clearer facts, direct answers, and useful specifics over polished marketing language. Output format: Use these headings: - Brand Clarity - Business Purpose Clarity - Missing Context - Top 5 Brand Mention Improvements
How the Prompt Is Structured
"Does, For Whom, Where"
Three clauses every brand page must pass. The Process explicitly asks whether the page answers all three — and flags exactly which one is missing.
"Do Not Suggest Empty Branding Language"
Without this, the AI recommends adding "tagline" or "mission statement" content that doesn't actually help an AI describe the business. The constraint keeps suggestions substantive.
Recognition > Clever
A clear one-line description beats a clever tagline every time for GEO. AI needs a sentence it can paraphrase, not a slogan it has to interpret.
Five Improvements, No More
Brand pages are small. Five concrete fixes is plenty. More than that usually means rewriting the whole page, which is outside the scope here.
Example Output
Brand Clarity
The name "ABC Plumbing" appears in the header and footer but is never paired with a short descriptive phrase.
Business Purpose Clarity
The page mentions plumbing services but never clearly states what kind of plumbing — residential vs commercial, emergency vs installation — which makes it hard for AI to bucket the business.
Missing Context
No explicit "for whom" (residential homeowners? building managers? both?). No explicit "where" beyond a single mention of Bozeman. No founding year.
Top 5 Brand Mention Improvements
- Open the page with: "ABC Plumbing is a licensed residential plumbing company serving Bozeman, MT and Gallatin County since 2014."
- Add a short "What we do" paragraph that names the 4 core service categories.
- Name the target customer explicitly ("homeowners" or "property managers").
- Add the founder's name, role, and one-line bio to establish a named person behind the brand.
- Add NAP (name, address, phone) in the page footer as plain text, not just an image.
Tips for Better Results
One Sentence That Can Stand Alone
Every page should have a sentence an AI could quote as the one-line description of your business. Write that sentence first, then build the page around it.
Test It: Ask ChatGPT
Paste the page into ChatGPT and ask "describe this business in one sentence." If the description is wrong or generic, you know what to fix.
Link to Third-Party Profiles
LinkedIn, Google Business, Wikipedia. External mentions reinforce the brand identity AI systems can triangulate.
Consistent Brand Language Sitewide
If your About page, homepage, and service page all describe the business differently, AI picks the worst-sounding version. Standardize.
Get Named, Not Just Cited
We tune brand pages so AI systems can describe your business accurately and recommend it by name.
